The Growth Challenge works differently to most of the other September promotions, and it is worth understanding the difference before assuming it works the same way. It does not measure against a fixed target set by the company. It measures against a personal record, your own highest month from March to June, which means the goal is different for every single Business Builder.
How the Comparison Actually Works
Whatever your best single month of sales was between March and June is the number to beat. Not an average of those four months, the single highest one. September’s sales are then measured as a percentage increase over that specific figure, and the size of that increase decides which reward bracket is reached.
The goal is different for every single Business Builder, because it is measured against her own record, not a fixed company target.
The Four Brackets
A twenty five to forty nine percent increase over your best month earns a TC Lunch Bag. Fifty to ninety nine percent earns the Lunch Bag with a cap added. A hundred to a hundred and forty nine percent earns the Lunch Bag, cap and folded umbrella together. And a hundred and fifty percent or more, more than double your previous best month, earns the full set including a laptop bag.
Why This Rewards Consistency Differently to Other Promotions
Most of the other Record Breakers promotions reward absolute numbers, ten units of one item, a fixed rand value banked. This one rewards improvement specifically, which means someone with a modest existing sales history has just as real a chance at the top bracket as someone with a much larger one, provided the percentage increase is genuinely there. It is, in a real sense, the fairest promotion running this month, because it measures each person only against herself.
New Business Builders and This Promotion
For someone without four months of sales history yet, the promotion works slightly differently, comparing against a minimum starting sales figure rather than a personal best that does not yet exist. If this applies to you, the specific minimum figure will have been communicated directly, since it depends on when you joined the network.
What to Actually Check This Week
- Confirm your highest single month figure from March to June is recorded correctly, since the whole calculation depends on that starting point
- Track September sales weekly rather than waiting until the end of the month to add them up
- If a target sms has not arrived, check with your Manager rather than assuming no target applies
Why a Percentage Increase Can Be Harder to Reach Than It Sounds
A fifty percent increase over your best month sounds achievable until it is actually attempted, because a personal best month is, by definition, already the strongest performance on record. Beating it is not the same task as simply having an ordinary good month. It usually requires something genuinely different in approach, a new customer reached, a product pushed harder than usual, rather than repeating exactly what produced the original best month and hoping the percentage arrives on its own.
What Managers and Distributors Should Know
The same growth principle scales up for Managers and Distributors, measured against their own historical best rather than a fixed company figure, with Managers needing a minimum sales value of R40 000 to qualify and Distributors needing R210 000 in Distributorship sales. Reaching Level 3 as a Manager also opens the door to the Manager Power Shootout, an invitation only gala evening for the ten highest achievers in that bracket nationally.
Why Tracking Weekly Beats Waiting for the End of the Month
Waiting until the last few days of September to check progress against a personal best leaves almost no room to adjust if the number is falling short. Checking weekly, ideally against a running total rather than trying to remember the figure from memory, means a slow week can be caught and addressed while there is still time left in the month to make up the difference, rather than discovering the shortfall only once it is too late to do anything meaningful about it.
